Presales and Solutions Engineering Manager

The ideal candidate should be naturally curious and inquisitive, great at relationship building and enthusiastic about engaging with customers. The role provides opportunities to work with the latest Esri technology and interact with a wide variety of organizations across a range of industries including transportation, public safety, government, utilities, insurance and retail.


Given the variety of our projects and customer engagements, the work activities required of a Presales Manager will involve working closely with our customers and partners and will include some of the following activities:
• Work with the Sales & Marketing Team to provide pre-sales and post sales development capability in line with the needs of single sales opportunities, industry strategy and Esri technical direction
• Leading the presales (solutions engineering) team to deliver high quality proposals, prototypes and presentations meeting the client requirements
• Working with Sales team to reach the sales targets and goals set for the fiscal year
• Attend meetings with sales managers and acting as a technical sales expert and an advisor for Esri technology
• Researching and identifying partner solutions and develop targeted opportunities to assist build a sales pipeline
• Working closely and collaboratively with customers to devise effective solutions utilizing ArcGIS technology
• Engage with customers to better understand their business needs to align our technical solutions with their objectives for the use and application of geospatial information within their business
• Grow relationships in our customer base, prospects and developer community in order to influence technology choice
• Define and create technical assets, such as prototypes, reference apps, starter kits, patterns and practice guidance for use at in-person events, online and for our customers
• Deliver impactful technical content at local conferences and seminars
• Maintain an excellent knowledge of competitive technologies and their presence and impact in the Kuwaiti GIS market


The individual will ideally be educated to degree level or above in GIS, Computer Science or an IT related subject. Alternatively, he will have 12 or more years’ experience working in the GIS industry preferably working on Esri ArcGIS technology.
Experience of working directly with customers to ensure that their technical needs are met is a primary requirement of this role. Excellent presentation and communication skills and should be able to articulate client requirements. Extensive experience in presales processes like writing RFP’s, proposal development and demonstrating ArcGIS technology
Must possess Esri Certification preferably Esri System Design to propose best practices of implementing ArcGIS technology
The role requires the individual to be imaginative, technically knowledgeable and a confident communicator. The individual should be self-motivated and comfortable working both alone and as part of a team
Ideally, as part of the sales and commercial team, they should have a degree of commercial awareness and a keen interest in the application of new technology to solving business problems
