Responsibilities:
The Roles of the GIS Database Administrator shall include, but not be limited to the following:
• Applying modern GIS methodologies, concepts, and analytical techniques, including indoor 3D modelling, modelling real-time phenomena, advanced data collection systems, and spatial analysis.
• Work closely with users to identify, design, implement and certify key GIS data workflows for the ArcGIS platform.
• Shall be able to compile geographic data from sources including, field observation, satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and existing maps.
• Shall have knowledge in GIS database administration including relational database management systems (RDBMS) and structured query language (SQL).
• Creating customized Geo-processing scenarios using ArcGIS Desktop extensions of Spatial Analyst, Network Analyst and others.
• Prepares plans, produces, maintains, and updates a variety of maps, drawings, plans, presentations, reports, online mapping applications, and mobile mapping solutions.
Requirements:
• Minimum eight (8) years of working experience in ESRI GIS software packages.
• Working knowledge of principles of surveying, mapping, global positioning systems and usage of aerial photography and satellite imaging.
• Experience in design & create accurate database and geodatabases, and models and well-designed maps.
• Professional knowledge of entire ESRI’s suite of GIS software including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Mobile platforms, functions & workflows.
• Knowledge of cartographic technology and GIS application software; theory, principles and practices of GIS, including computerized data compilation and conversion techniques, database management systems, graphics applications and overlays, and spatial models for computer analysis
• Skills in computer cartographic design, layout, and production.
• ESRI Technical Certification in Desktop Domain
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science or other closely related field.
Generic & Specific Skills:
• Shall be able to read, write and speak English language.
• Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
